So far I have really enjoyed using Twitter for class. One thing that I have learned is that there are so many different kinds of twitter accounts. I have had a personal twitter for a long time but I really only follow my friends and celebrities. Now I see that I can use twitter to learn information about different teaching strategies and what is going on in the education world. I haven't had any issues with it yet.
I learned a lot of new skills from the web design assignment. I really enjoyed being able to create my own classroom website and imagine a fake life for myself. I learned a lot by looking at other teachers websites but ended up using a lot of my own ideas for the website. It was difficult for me to add the calendar on to the website but I finally figured it out after a few hours. When I create my own website I will definitely use a lot of the same ideas that we used for this assignment but I think I would make it a little smaller. I know I don't like having to search for a long time for one piece of information so I probably would only make it one or two pages.

I have done a little research on assistive and adaptive technologies but not too much. My cousin is on the autism spectrum and he uses a lot of assistive technology. One thing he uses are headphones in his classroom that is attached to the teachers microphone so he can only hear what the teacher is saying. He also has trouble with his handwriting so he uses a laptop when they do writing assignments instead of having to write on paper.

Hi Kendall! I completely agree with your statement about the numerous Twitter accounts. One thing that surprised me was how there are any reputable and well respected organizations who use Twitter as a way to keep individuals up-to-date with important things going on in education!

Hey Kendall! I also had some trouble adding the calendar onto my website but eventually figured it out. I agree with making a smaller website since we would still practice various skills on Weebly just not have as many pages. Additionally, I really enjoyed how nice your website looked! Ver easy to navigate.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed making up a fake life for myself by using Weebly as a class website. I think the activity was a perfect way to start imagining how we would run our own classroom.
